As a new brand in the industry, we dedicated a lot of time ensuring we were working with the right materials and teams that aligned to our values and the experience we wished our customers to have when wearing LIÁN LOU. Our primary focus was in sourcing high quality, environmentally friendly fabrications and trims and then partnering with local, collaborative teams to transform them into our seasonal vision.

Come behind the scenes with us, as we take a look into our fabric choices, bespoke colourways, trim designs and the incredible makers behind SS22 DÉBUT.

OUR DESIGN PROCESS

Starting with a feeling or a memory that resonates with us, we workshop this into a moodboard and colour palette that feels true to us as a brand and pulls from our seasonal inspiration. We then take elements of this mood and infuse them into the small details of our designs.

We design our pieces in-house before we send them to our talented pattern makers who help us construct each garment in calico before being sampled in our final fabrications.

THE EVOLUTION OF OUR CHAISE GINGHAM PRINT

OUR FABRICATIONS

Our SS22 collection is made up of four fabrics with a focus on organic and natural fibres.

Our crisp cotton poplin, luxurious linen and soft cotton voile comes from an eco-friendly supplier in the Netherlands who work with GOTS certified organic and consciously grown fabrics.

Our cotton spandex rib knit blend is Australian made and uses GOTS certified organic cotton.

These fabrications have been chosen for their quality feel and suitability to our seasonal designs.

OUR COLOURWAYS

Whilst LIÁN LOU is built upon creating simple pieces in a tonal palette, we wanted to embrace seasonal colours that were soft of the eye yet had depth of tone.

We were determined to produce a specific colour palette that we couldn’t find in existing fabrications, so we engaged the help of an Australian dying manufacturer to assist us in creating our exact colourways for SS22; Jardin Green and Porte Blue.

Working in small batches, our dying partner utilises a water recycling system which filters 80% of their water so it can be reused throughout the production process.
